Almost a Month!

Sooo almost a month ago I started an internship as an assistant director of the new Netflix series 'Las Chicas del Cable' First week was pre-production ( lots of paperwork and stuff ) and after that the action started! It's been a great experience so far, I learn something new every day.. I love it! ^^

WHAT I DO:

The first day my job was basically just turning on the red light whenever the shooting started and asking for silence outside. But little by little they gave me more stuff to do. First I learned to cover the vanishing point so none crosses by when filming, cause if someone crosses they would come on frame ( I did terribly bad the first time.. but learned a lot from it ).

Between shots I guide the actors from one place to the other (to the sets, the dressing room, makeup room....) I move the extras from one place to the other, I do paperwork.. and anything else I'm asked to do.

THE CREW:

I`ve met a lot of new people most of them are really nice! I love to discover people, learn from them and ABOUT them. I find out new exciting stuff every day and meet new people practically every week.

I made really close friends with the other two interns (from the production department and the art department) and I have a really cool friendship with most of the guys from the Lighting Department (gaffers, lighting technicians...), I feel like they really take care of me, as if a have a group of big brothers there haha

FUN STORY:

There was this time I was in the back of the set, covering a vanishing point. I was all alone and suddenly all the Lighting guys came to fix something that wasn't right. I was really surprised to watch them work like that, they did a great team work, fast, efficient, all of them knew what to do and worked as one. I felt so sorry to be the only one watching that that I took this picture cause I wanted to show their hard work! I also let them know I saw it and appreciated it, and they were really grateful and said people normally don't realise all the background work and that me telling them that made it worth it. That's how some of them became my big brothers haha

THE ACTORS:

Me being an actress before a filmmaker makes it easy for me to feel close to the actors and relate to them. There are some that I feel closer to, that I've talked to more often and that I have fun stories with. Each one of them are amazingly nice and humble!

Nadia de Santiago, Concha Velasco, Yon González, Nico Romero and Borja Luna are some of them :)
