SPOILER ALERT!
Ok...quick post: If you haven't seen this movie you have to watch it NOW! What a beautiful story, and it's also visually amazing! Now, I know a few months ago I posted a making of about the stop motion in this movie, cause i love the way they made it ...so interesting! but I didn't have the chance to watch the movie itself till now.
The story is just perfect...with all kind of details and deep messages starting with the infinite love of the parents, especially the mother. the power of memories, the strength of love, and the beauty of creation.
I love the symbolism of the eyes... It made me think about how sometimes is easier to be blind to the darkness of this world, to live numb, painless, but that would also mean to be blind to the beauty of it, the beauty in people, in nature and most of all the beauty of the only thing that brings the light to that darkness: GOD
This movie made me laugh, it made me cry it made me fall in love with the characters..stories like this aren't made so often these days. It's funny cause when I finished the movie I went straight to internet and googled: What legend is Kubo based on? Amazing thing is: it's not based on any old legend! it's a whole made up story by Shannon Tindle and Marc Haimes
Interesting idea: i think is amazing how in the end, when King Moon loses his memories, the town people tell him fake memories that actually make him become the kind of person that they say. This shows the power of believing in someone...sometimes it only takes you treating someone as if he was a good person for him to want to become a good person. It also shows the power of your memories. You are what you lived and you lived what you remember.
QUOTES I LOVE FROM THE MOVIE:
'If you must blick, do it now...' 'Love made me strong' 'There are things down here that are worth living for' 'How do you see a song?- You look'
