Quinoa Salad

I made this salad the other day and it was Yummycious!! (Not just yummy or delicious) so I wanted to share it with all you! ;)

How to cook quinoa?

1-Rinse the quinoa under cold running water to remove its bitter flavour .

2- Tip into a pan and add double the amount of salted water.

3-Place over a medium heat and bring to the boil .

4-Reduce to a simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, or until tender and the liquid is absorbed .

5-Fluff it up with a fork, then pimp it.

Got leftovers? Cold, leftover quinoa is a brilliant filler in nut roasts or veggie burgers, too.

MY INGREDIENTS:

-Quinoa

-Raisins

-Sweet onion (small amount, chopped)

-Turkey meat (small amount, chopped)

-Chopped Apple.

-Chickpeas ( small amount)

-Salad Cheese

Basic Quinoa Facts:

1-How much cooked quinoa does 1 cup dry quinoa yield? 1 cup dry quinoa yields about 3 cups cooked quinoa.

2-How much liquid do I need to cook quinoa? To cook 1 cup quinoa, you need about 2 cups liquid.

3-How long does it take to cook quinoa? 1 cup quinoa will cook in about 20 minutes.

4-How do I make quinoa less bitter? Nearly, if not all, of the natural bitterness of quinoa's outer coating can be removed by a vigorous rinsing in a mesh strainer.

5-How do I make better-tasting quinoa? Quinoa is really excellent when cooked in vegetable or chicken broth. Also, add about 1/4 teaspoon salt to each cup dried quinoa when cooking. Try adding other spices and aromatics during cooking as well, like a clove of smashed garlic, a sprig of fresh rosemary, or a dash of black pepper.Can I use my rice cooker to make quinoa? Yes!
